Railway Station & Crossing
The Portsmouth to Brighton railway line has a local station at both Southbourne. Services run to Havant, then on to Portsmouth/Southampton to the West, or connections available to Guildford and London Waterloo. Services to the east run to Chichester, Bognor Regis, Worthing and Brighton, or direct to Gatwick, as well as connections available to London Victoria.
Prinsted, the oldest settled area of Southbourne is a conservation area consisting mainly of ancient buildings along narrow lanes in a rural setting. Prinsted is also in the Chichester Harbour AONB. Thornham Marina provides berths for small yachts and motor boats.
There are 3 Parish owned defibrillators located within the village; At the Village Hall, The Sea Scout Hut and at the Pavilion on the Rec Ground. Please be advised that in an emergency you must call 999 and advice will be given on how and where to access a defibrillator.
Age Concern Charity Shop
The shop on New Road helps to raise funds for the Age Concern Centre. A range of items are on sale from 10:00 to 12:30 on Wednesday Mornings.
In First Avenue, next to the library is the village hall. It has a large main hall, fully equipped kitchen and smaller meeting room. The hall can be hired for functions. Many groups, clubs and projects are held at the hall.
The library is on first avenue. It's open weekday afternoons and Saturday mornings, this has recently been updated to self-service.
Parish Recreation Ground
A recreation ground provided by the Parish Council in Park Road, one football pitch, pavilion and play equipment for children.
Based on the Bourne Community College site, the Leisure Centre provides facilities and equipment for the complete range of health giving and exercise activities.
Southbourne Family Centre
The offices are based at the Bourne Community College although activities take place at the Southbourne Village Hall on Monday, Tuesday & Thursday mornings, providing services to families in Southbourne and the surrounding areas.

Both pubs are sited on Main Road. The Sussex Brewery is situated near the border with Emsworth, The Traveller’s Joy is in the middle of Southbourne next to the Doctors’ Surgery.
