 Southbourne Environment Group Logo

The Southbourne Environment Group exists to connect people with an interest in protecting and promoting the local environment. We grew out of community discussions and ideas when the Southbourne Neighbourhood Plan was being developed. The group is driven by Parish Councillors, the Chichester District Council Community Wildlife Officer and most importantly - you!

The group helps local volunteers connect and work with each other on one-off events and longer term projects. In our first year we have arranged litter picks, planted numerous trees and hundreds of saplings and promoted ditch-clearance and hedge-laying work parties and nature walks. Longer term projects include wildlife mapping, footpath maintenance, tackling air pollution, community allotments and building the Green Ring.
